REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH
& PREGNANCY
Mobile women face the
same issues as other women. We experience regular menstrual cycles and many of
us are sexually active. We want to know about things like birth control,
sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy, ovarian and cervical cancer.
However, a recent study
showed that disabled women are less likely to receive reproductive health care
and often are denied services because of their disability. The reasons include
inaccessible medical facilities and equipment, inexperienced medical staff, and
often, antiquated social attitudes.
The good news is that you
can get the quality reproductive health care you deserve by educating yourself
and your health care providers.
